TED TALK
Do schools kill our creativity? this TED talk was very interesting. A lot of people today would advocate for all of the rules of our education system. Sir Ken Robinson points out how schools have slowly taken away creativity because of people stigmatizing mistakes. Which leads to students being scared to be wrong, which means if your not prepared to be wrong which means if your not prepared to be wrong you'll never come up with something original states Mr. Robinson this leads to educating people out of their creativity.
Mr. Robinson states that he thinks creativity is just as important in education as literacy, and that it should be treated with the same status. I agree with Mr. Robinson, the arts should not be pushed to the bottom and should have equal value to other subjects. Mr.Robinson states that our national education systems where mistakes are the worst things to make this statement, relates to the article The right to Fail. in the article the Right to Fail by William Zinsser he says "failure is not fatal". Mr. Zinsser i think would agree with Mr. Robinson point about how mistakes are apart of becoming better and more creative.
This TED talk relates to the American Dream because the American Dream is based on hard. Robinson states that education is meant to take us to our future. Most peoples American Dream is achieved through the education process. Most peoples American Dream involve them finding a job through education. I loved this TED talk i think it is very true that people have become afraid of being wrong. I slowly have realized that being wrong is okay because its okay to make mistakes they make you better.
